Feriday is a days-off planner. It shows public holidays, school holidays by region and the bridge days in between — and its leave planner works out which days to book so your leave turns into the longest possible breaks. Holidays are local, so everything is broken down by state or region: a single national list is usually wrong for wherever you live.
Public holiday dates are generated from the open-source python-holidays library (MIT licence) and reconciled against the official source for each country — for Malaysia, the Jabatan Perdana Menteri list of gazetted federal and state holidays.
School holidays come from the authorities that set them: the Malaysian Ministry of Education (KPM circulars), Singapore's Ministry of Education, Rijksoverheid for the Netherlands and Vlaanderen.be for Flanders. German and Austrian school holidays come from the OpenHolidays API, licensed under the Open Database License, and are cross-checked against a second independent source.
Some holidays follow the Islamic, Chinese or Hindu calendars and cannot be fixed years in advance. Where a date is an astronomical estimate rather than an officially confirmed one, we label it estimated instead of pretending otherwise. Advisory and provisional school dates are labelled too.
Working-day counts, bridge days, long weekends and the leave planner are calculated from the holiday dates plus the correct local rest days. That matters: three Malaysian states keep a Friday–Saturday weekend, and in the Netherlands Good Friday is an official holiday but not a day off for everyone, so we count it as a working day.
The leave planner runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you enter is sent to us.
If a date here is wrong, please tell us — contact us — and cite the official source if you can. Corrections are applied by hand and take priority over the generated data.
