Last updated: November 2026. Feriday has no accounts and no logins, uses no third-party scripts or analytics services, and records only what helps us understand which pages are useful.
Each time a page is opened, this site's own server notes: the page (its address without anything after the ?), the kind of page, how the server answered and how fast, the page you came from (its site and path only), the campaign tags utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign if the link had them, whether you are on a phone, tablet or computer, your browser's name and main version, your browser's first language preference, and your country. The country is looked up from your network address on our own server; the address itself is not kept. There is also a visitor code, made from your network address and browser mixed with a random value that changes every day, so today's code differs from tomorrow's and cannot be turned back into an address.
Programs that say they are bots, such as search engines, are not logged as visits: only their name, the page fetched, when, and how the server answered and how fast.
The country lookup uses DB-IP's free data: IP Geolocation by DB-IP.
Recorded: the pages you open and how you arrived; clicks on this site's own links and buttons (the wording on them or a fixed name, and where they go: a page here, or only the name of another site, never anything after the ?); how far down the page you scrolled and how long it was actually read; how fast it loaded; script errors, with addresses and long numbers removed; the names of forms started and submitted, never what was typed; and actions such as using the leave planner, printing a page or saving a calendar file (the action and the page's country, never what you entered). The leave planner itself runs entirely in your browser: the numbers you enter are never sent to us.
Not done: nothing goes to any other company; your network address is not stored with these records; there is no code that follows you from day to day: the code that groups one day's pages changes daily, and the date of your first visit is kept only as how long ago it was, in broad steps.
One cookie, fs, holds only the date of your first visit (no identifier). It is set once, never extended, and expires after 395 days.
During traffic floods, a short-lived cookie with no identifier (ok, the same value for everyone that day, one hour) may be set to tell browsers from scrapers.
Your light/dark theme preference is stored locally in your browser (localStorage) and is never sent to us.
These records are kept for 30 days on this site's server and for 90 days in our own private copy, then as daily totals only. They are not shared with anyone.
The site is not currently monetised with advertising. If we add it in future, third-party ad cookies may be used, and visitors in the EU/EEA and UK will be shown a consent choice before any such cookies are set. This policy will be updated before ads go live.
You can browse with an ad or tracker blocker; the pages work the same. Clearing this site's data removes the cookie and the theme preference. Questions or requests: hello@feriday.com.
